Operation Luttich: Falaise Pocket 1944 - A Strategy Game Review

Operation Luttich: Falaise Pocket 1944 is a strategy game designed by Joni Nuutinen. The game is set in August 1944 and the player is tasked with pushing the exhausted Wehrmacht forces to Avranches through the fierce Allied resistance and numbing bombardment to cut off US armies breaking out from Normandy while German flanks are crumbling all around them.

The game provides a unique war gaming experience with its in-built variation and smart AI technology. To be a victorious general, the player must learn to coordinate their attacks in two ways. First, as adjacent units give support to an attacking unit, keep the units in groups in order to gain local superiority. Secondly, it is rarely the best idea to use brute force when it is possible to encircle the enemy and cut off its supply lines instead.

The game is well-designed with an easy-to-use interface and detailed graphics. It is a full version game that can be played on Android devices. The game does not require any personal information and only requests the necessary permissions to function. The developer, Joni Nuutinen, has been offering highly rated Android-only strategy board games since 2011, and even the first scenarios are still actively updated.
